The head of North Ossetia, Sergei Menyailo, announced the formation of the so-called "volunteer detachment" by the end of September. It will be sent to war against Ukraine. He stated this in Telegram.

According to Sergei Menyailo, he personally "organizes combat coordination and leads them to the area of combat missions." Now the squad is at the training ground.

"Now we are preparing another group of volunteers for dispatch - they will complete the existing battalions and form a new one. I have already said: that some of these volunteers are reserve officers, my comrades, colleagues, and subordinates. These are fighters from different regions of Russia, people who are experienced and able to fight," he writes.

7 months ago, North Ossetia sent the "Alania" battalion to Ukraine, 4 months later - the "Ossetia" battalion.

  • The leader of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, figured out how to save the Kremlin from general mobilization. He announced a plan of "self-mobilization". His "idea" is that "every leader of the region is quite capable of preparing, training and staffing at least one thousand volunteers."
  • According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), Russian regions have united around Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov's call for "self-mobilization" to give additional strength to the Russian occupiers. The ISW notes that the Russian municipal leadership may be under pressure from the federal authorities to create "volunteer battalions."
