Russia launched more than a dozen drones and an Iskander missile at Ukraine

On the night of August 17, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with kamikaze drones and a missile strike. Ukraine's air defense successfully intercepted all enemy drones.

According to the Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykola Oleshchuk, on Telegram, Russian forces launched an Iskander-K cruise missile at the city of Sumy from the Voronezh region of Russia.

Additionally, the invaders launched 14 Shahed-type attack drones from the areas of Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Yeisk, and Kursk in Russia. Ukrainian air defense forces shot down all 14 Shahed drones. Air defense operations were conducted in Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Poltava, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kyiv regions.

The attack was countered by mobile fire teams, aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, and electronic warfare units of the Ukrainian Air Force.
