Russian forces carried out a combined strike on Ukraine during the night and morning of January 23, deploying cruise, ballistic, aviation, and anti-aircraft guided missiles. The air defense forces managed to destroy 21 out of 41 targets.

This information was reported by the Telegram channel of the Chief Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valeriy Zaluzhny.

According to the report, a total of 41 means of aerial attack by the enemy were recorded. Most of the missiles followed a ballistic trajectory:

  • 4 anti-aircraft guided missiles S-300/S-400 from the Belgorod region - towards the Kharkiv region;
  • 15 cruise missiles X-101/X-555/X-55 from six strategic bombers Tu-95MS (launch area - Engels, Russia);
  • 8 missiles X-22 from bombers Tu-22M3 from the Bryansk and Oryol regions - towards the Kharkiv and Sumy regions;
  • 12 ballistic missiles "Iskander-M" (launch area - Belgorod and Voronezh regions);
  • 2 guided aviation missiles X-59 from two Su-34 aircraft (launch area - Belgorod region, Russia).

As a result of the combat operations by the Air Force, the following were destroyed:

  • 15 cruise missiles X-101/X-555/X-55;
  • 5 ballistic missiles "Iskander-M";
  • 1 guided aviation missile X-59.

It is also noted that not all enemy missiles attacking on a ballistic trajectory reached their targets.

This morning, on January 23, Russia launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine from strategic aviation. Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Pavlohrad came under attack, and there is information about casualties and fatalities. Fires have broken out, and there are reports of damage in the cities.
