Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups have started disguising themselves in Ukrainian military uniforms to infiltrate Ukrainian positions. However, Ukrainian forces are detecting and eliminating them.
This was reported by Yurii Fedorenko, the commander of the "Achilles" battalion of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade, during a broadcast on the national telethon.
"Enemy sabotage groups, as part of their 'masquerade' programme, are dressing in Ukrainian uniforms and attempting to penetrate our defensive lines. Most of these groups are detected and destroyed by the Defense Forces," Fedorenko said.
He emphasized that Ukrainian intelligence services work precisely and effectively. While their actions may not be visible to the general public, their impact on ensuring defense capabilities is significant.
"Sometimes the enemy believes they are acting in the interests of the Russian occupation forces, but in reality, they are serving the interests of the Defense Forces. They just don't know it yet," he added.
Fedorenko also reported that in the Kharkiv region, within his brigade's area of responsibility, the Russians are deploying "an unprecedented number of forces and equipment" along the Kupiansk axis, allowing them to briefly occupy Kruhliakivka. Over the past two and a half weeks, the Russian forces has used 100 units of armored and lightly armored vehicles in this operation, 90 of which were destroyed.
"They aim to reach the left bank of Kupiansk and Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi by the New Year, continuing their objectives set for November 1. However, I am convinced they will fail," Fedorenko stated.
The battalion commander noted that the Defense Forces have conducted several critical operations near Hlyboke, allowing them to push Russian forces out of fortified positions and secure these areas.
He also highlighted that the Russians frequently target locations used for the medical evacuation of Ukrainian defenders.
