Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov held talks with British Defense Minister John Healey during a visit by the Ukrainian delegation to the UK. The parties discussed further steps to support the Defense Forces, both now and in the future.
Umerov noted that the UK is providing Ukrainian soldiers with necessary ammunition, including artillery, mortar shells, air defense systems, and anti-tank mines. He expressed gratitude to the people of the UK, the British government, and John Healey personally for their support.
"This sets an example for other partners, as timely deliveries allow for more effective destruction of the enemy. By the end of the year, more AS-90 artillery systems will appear on the front lines. We also have good news regarding long-range weapons and robotic systems— the enemy will feel this on the battlefield," emphasized Umerov.
In addition, the UK is actively working on training and equipping strategic reserve brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Umerov and Healey agreed to jointly address a list of urgent needs that will be funded from frozen Russian assets.
The discussions also touched on investments in Ukraine's defense industry. British partners are already involved in production, but there are plans to expand these capabilities and increase production in the defense sector.
Umerov also informed his British counterpart about President Volodymyr Zelensky's Victory Plan, particularly concerning defense.
