Ukrainian forces attacked oil and military facilities in several Russian regions overnight on July 8. The targets included Rosneft’s Saratov oil refinery, the Krasnodarskaya compressor station, a military airfield in Borisoglebsk, 230 km from Voronezh, as well as two oil tankers near Taganrog and a petrochemical facility in Nizhnekamsk.
According to Saratov Governor, the attack caused "damage to civilian infrastructure facilities"; one person was killed and several others were injured. He did not mention a strike on the oil refinery. A strike on the Saratov refinery and a fire there were confirmed by Astra. It is one of Russia’s oldest oil refineries, with a processing capacity of around 4.8 million tonnes per year. It was previously attacked on May 31.
In Tatarstan, footage from local residents showed a large fire breaking out at one of the oil facilities. According to Supernova, the target was the Nizhnekamsk refinery "Taneco" (Tatneft), with a capacity of 16.2 million tonnes per year. Exilenova+ reported that the strike hit one of the country’s largest petrochemical complexes, Nizhnekamskneftekhim (Sibur). Both facilities were targeted by Ukrainian drones on June 12. Regional authorities did not report any strikes.
Astra also reported that the Krasnodarskaya compressor station in the Kuban region was attacked on the evening of July 7. It is a strategic Gazprom linear production facility responsible for the purification, drying, and compression of natural gas for further transportation through major routes, including the Blue Stream gas pipeline and the Dzhubga–Lazarevskoye–Sochi domestic system. The Krasnodar region operational headquarters confirmed that drone debris fell in the village of Smolenskaya in the Seversky district, where the station is located.

In addition, Ukrainian forces struck the Borisoglebsk military airfield in the Voronezh region, which hosts Su-34, Su-35S, Su-30SM combat aircraft and other aviation assets. A fire broke out at the site, according to footage from local residents. The airfield is also used as a training base for the Assault and Bomber Aviation Faculty of the Krasnodar Higher Military Aviation School for Pilots, which was established on the basis of the Borisoglebsk Aviation Training Center.
In the Rostov region, around 70 drones were shot down overnight, Governor Yuri Slyusar said. According to him, drones attacked two oil tankers in Taganrog Bay that were heading toward Rostov. The vessels were damaged, and two people were injured.
"Both injured people refused hospitalization. The crew of one of the vessels had to be evacuated. The tankers were empty, and there was no oil product spill," Slyusar said.
The vessels were likely traveling from Crimea, where they may have been delivering fuel. Over the past two days, Ukrainian drones have already struck 10 such tankers in the Sea of Azov.
