Next year, elections are expected to take place in Ukraine, according to United States Senator Lindsey Graham from the Republican Party, who spoke during a press conference in Kyiv.

The senator addressed the Ukrainian president with this message.

"My message to the president today is, I am impressed by what you and your countrymen and women have done. We will continue to fight to make sure you get the weaponry you need to win a war that we cannot afford to lose. But you have to do two things at once. Elections are scheduled to take place in Ukraine next year," Graham said. According to Lindsey Graham, the elections are expected to proceed even in the face of Russian invasion.

"I want this country to have free and fair elections even in the midst of an attack. The American people need to know that Ukraine has changed. In the past, it was a very corrupt country," he stated.

Currently, Graham says that Americans are closely monitoring the weapons and funds provided to Ukraine. The next step in establishing democracy, he believes, is holding elections.

"We are watching every dollar, every unit of weaponry. We continue to contribute. And I'm pleased that Ukrainians are not living off the American people. They're helping the American people. And I believe it's time for Ukraine to take the next step in its democracy, which is to have elections in 2024," concluded the American senator.
