As of October 19, more than 20 families are residing in the Chernobyl zone. They are disconnected from civilization due to the Russian invasion, and they are being assisted by Ukrainian military personnel. This information was provided by Lieutenant General Serhiy Naiev, the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"The Chernobyl zone. Over twenty families live here, and they have remained even after the full-scale Russian invasion," the statement reads.
According to the commander, two of these families are completely isolated from civilization because the bridge that previously connected the two riverbanks has now been destroyed. They are receiving assistance from military personnel through civil-military cooperation.
"Today, I visited Dunya and Ivan Kuzmich. I listened to their needs, which include firewood, essential medications, and food. Some of the work has already been done, and we will continue to assist to ensure that we are all fully prepared for winter," added Naiev.
