The Security Service's counterintelligence has foiled attempts by the aggressor to obtain the geolocation of Ukrainian Air Defense systems in Donetsk region.

As a result of the special operation, an FSB agent who was reconnaissance on Ukrainian military positions in the Avdiivka direction was arrested.

The culprit turned out to be a local resident who was wanted for fraud and theft. In order to avoid punishment for these crimes, in the summer of 2023, the woman fled to the Zhytomyr region. Hiding in a rented house, she actively communicated in chats on Russian Telegram channels, trying to find a job.

Thus, the criminal caught the attention of the Russian special services. Later, she was remotely recruited by an FSB staff member, whose identity was established by the Security Service. At his direction, the agent resumed her communication with former fellow villagers in Donetsk region to clandestinely obtain "necessary" information from them. It was established that under the guise of casual phone conversations, the traitor tried to find out about the Ukrainian Air Defense's actions during air attacks by the aggressors. In case of "confirmation," she further interrogated them about the approximate locations of the Ukrainian Air Defense's missile positions.

The reconnaissance information was needed by the occupiers to "circumvent" Ukrainian Air Defense on the eastern front.

However, the Security Service thwarted the enemy's plans. Having exposed the Russian agent in advance, the SSU operatives systematically documented her criminal actions and took measures to secure the Air Defense systems. At the final stage of the special operation, the perpetrator was arrested in temporary accommodation. During the search, a mobile phone used by her in reconnaissance and subversive activities was found.

Currently, the Security Service investigators have informed the detainee of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (state treason committed in wartime).

The criminal is in custody and faces life imprisonment.
