The Security Service has exposed an FSB informant who was spying on the movement of military columns of the Ukrainian Armed Forces through the territory of Mykolaiv.

To collect intelligence, the suspect set up an "observation post" in his own apartment. From the windows of the apartment, he observed the intensity of the movement of Ukrainian military units along one of the key highways towards the front line.

During the movement of Ukrainian military equipment, the perpetrator attempted to estimate its approximate quantity and paid particular attention to heavy weapons. Despite the Russian informant's attempts at concealment, the SSU operatives still managed to uncover and document his intelligence-gathering activities. To safeguard the routes of movement of Ukrainian troops, comprehensive measures were taken, and the suspect was apprehended "red-handed."

During the arrest, the perpetrator and his son resisted law enforcement officers physically in an attempt to flee the scene. However, they were unsuccessful.

According to the investigation, the suspect was in contact with the pro-Kremlin blogger Serhiy Lebedev (known under the pseudonym "Lochmatiy"), who is hiding in Donetsk and works for the FSB. He maintained communication with him through an anonymous chat in a messenger app. There, he posted reconnaissance "reports."

During the search of the detainee's residence, a mobile phone with evidence of criminal activity was seized.

Currently, SBU investigators have informed him of suspicion under Article 114-2 Part 3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information about the direction, movement, or placement of weapons, troops, or military equipment during wartime).

The perpetrator is in custody and faces up to 12 years in prison.
