In Uzhhorod, President Volodymyr Zelensky met with representatives of the business community in the Transcarpathian region as part of the Made in Ukraine economic platform.

"Transcarpathia is developing. Due to the war, many people have relocated here, and a significant number of relocated businesses are operating right here," the Head of State said.

The President noted that local businesses are collaborating with central and regional authorities, and that relocated enterprises are creating jobs in the region.

Volodymyr Zelensky also spoke with entrepreneurs, including representatives of relocated companies from Kharkiv, Melitopol, Dnipro, and Nikopol.

Additionally, during the meeting, they discussed support for relocated businesses, the expansion of the Affordable Loans 5-7-9% programme for local enterprises, the launch of targeted credit programmes, uninterrupted energy supply for businesses, and the reservation of employees.

First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko mentioned that Transcarpathia has become one of the leaders in the number of relocated businesses. Officially, about 400 such enterprises are registered in the region.

Furthermore, the number of new companies is also increasing. Compared to January 1, 2022, there are now 3,000 more companies. Among them, the leaders by sector are machine engineering, metal processing, woodworking, and agriculture.

As part of the Made in Ukraine initiative to support businesses this year, more than UAH 45 billion has been allocated, with at least UAH 530 million designated for Transcarpathia.

"Manufacturers in the region are already actively utilizing these tools, including available loans, grants, and the industrial park development programme. We expect that all programmes within the 'Made in Ukraine' policy will be continued next year," Yulia Svyrydenko stated.
