The Texty.org.ua has released an approximate map of the routes taken by Shahed kamikaze drones and their missiles during the attacks on Ukraine this autumn.

The map reveals two main attack directions for the Shahed drones: targeting the export infrastructure in the Odessa region and focusing on the Khmelnytsky region, primarily Starokostiantyniv.

The use of long-range weapons like Shahed on such a limited number of targets is quite peculiar, as it allows Ukraine to more easily establish defenses along predictable flight paths. Based on this, it can be assumed that the occupiers face certain challenges in reconnaissance and target selection for their drones.

The primary goal of these attacks is likely an attempt to deplete Ukrainian stocks of anti-aircraft missiles (Defense Forces strive to maximize the use of anti-aircraft machine guns and cannons to intercept Shahed drones, but intercepting all of them using these means is challenging). In general, while Shahed drones continue to pose a threat, they demonstrate limitations in their sphere of use amid ongoing supplies of air defense systems and counterintelligence measures.
