On the night of March 9, Russia launched 15 kamikaze drones against Ukraine. Air defense forces destroyed 12 "Shaheds."
According to the Ukrainian Air Force on Telegram, the Russian forces launched the "Shaheds" from Chauda (Crimea) and Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia).
The air defense was active in the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, and Poltava regions. Ukrainian defenders managed to destroy 12 out of the 15 drones.
Zenit rocket units of the Air Force and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were deployed to repel the attack.
The Ukrainian Air Force had reported the launch and movement of the drones since the evening of March 8. Air raid sirens were activated in parts of Ukraine, particularly in the east, north, and center.
Explosions were reported in the area of Kryvyi Rih during the air raid alarm. Later, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration reported that five drones were shot down over the Kryvyi Rih region that night. However, there were hits on an enterprise, causing a fire.
According to local authorities, no casualties were reported as a result of the attack.
