The director of the subcontracting organization, which provided military uniforms at an inflated price, has been notified of suspicion.
According to a statement from the National Police, the investigation revealed that officials of the military unit entered into three direct contracts with the winner of state procurement. According to these contracts, the contractor was supposed to supply uniform clothing for a total amount of over UAH 35 million, which was done, and all settlements were made.
"However, during laboratory tests, experts found that this military uniform does not meet the technical specifications of the defense department and cannot be used for its intended purpose," revealed the details in the department.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs added that law enforcement officers conducted searches at the residences of the individuals involved, in their vehicles, offices, and production facilities. In order to compensate for the damage caused, a seizure will be imposed on the property confiscated during the operations.
The director of the sewing factory has been notified of suspicion. He faces a penalty of imprisonment for up to 12 years with the deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 3 years, along with confiscation of property.
