The documentary film "Veselka: The Rainbow on the Corner at the Center of the World" about the Ukrainian restaurant Veselka in New York and humanitarian aid to Ukraine after the full-scale invasion by Russia will be narrated by American actor David Duchovny ("The X-Files"), according to Deadline.
Duchovny, whose ancestors lived in Berdychiv in the Zhytomyr region, was born and raised near the Veselka restaurant in Manhattan, in Little Ukraine. The film is set to be released on February 23.
The film was directed by Michael Fiore, who first discovered Veselka in the 1990s while attending a nearby university. According to him, the movie is about how families and communities come together through food and culture.
"For 70 years, Veselka has been a second kitchen to NYU students, including myself," says Fiore.
The soundtrack for the film was composed by Ryan Shore, with Grammy-winning saxophonist David Sanborn also part of the musical team for the project.
