The International Maritime Organization will send a mission to Ukraine to assess the country's needs in implementing the right to free navigation.
This was reported by the Vice Prime Minister for Reintegration of Ukraine and Minister of Development of Communities, Territories, and Infrastructure, Oleksandr Kubrakov.
"This decision forms the basis of the resolution 'Impact of the Russian Armed Invasion in Ukraine on International Navigation,' adopted by the IMO Assembly. The mission's results will be incorporated into a long-term project for technical assistance to Ukraine," stated Kubrakov.
The minister noted that the aforementioned decision and Russia's non-election to the IMO Council for 2023 and 2024 demonstrate the protection of the international maritime community's right to free navigation for each country.
"The Assembly also commended Ukraine's efforts to unblock free navigation in the Black Sea and create a Ukrainian corridor for civilian vessels," added the minister.
