Turkey has recalled its ambassador from Tel Aviv due to events in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs described this as "yet another step by the President of Turkey in support of the terrorist organization Hamas."
"The Turkish government's decision to recall the ambassador for consultations while the State of Israel is in a state of self-defense... is another step by the President of Turkey in favor of the terrorist organization Hamas," the statement from the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
The Israeli agency noted that after the attack on October 7th, Hamas militants killed over 1,400 people and took 240 people hostage.
"In addition, Hamas terrorists use the Gaza population as human shields, preventing them from reaching safe zones and seizing their fuel, food, and drinking water. Hamas is a real enemy of the Palestinian people and commits war crimes and crimes against humanity," they added in the statement.
