The Kremlin fired Colonel-General of the Federal Security Service Eduard Chernovoltsev, who oversaw the development of poisons, in particular, to eliminate opposition Russian politicians and liberals.

According to "The Insider", Chernovoltsev oversaw the FSB Research Institute-2, where all kinds of poisons are developed in a secret laboratory. Employees of the institute took part in poisoning opposition leader Alexei Navalny, writer Dmitry Bykov and public figure Vladimir Kara-Murza.

Officially, Chernovoltsev was sent into retirement upon reaching retirement age. However, a person of this level can usually serve up to 70 years.

Sources of the publication in the FSB report that Chernovoltsev resigned, as the Kremlin was extremely unhappy with the leaks of information databases.

"Two years ago, Eduard Vladimirovich swore to the country's leadership that he would block all channels of leaks. But in our leaky system, this is practically impossible," the source said.

Another FSB source said that Chernovoltsev lived in Kyiv for a long time and did not support the war. According to the interlocutor, the general "greatly regretted the start of the military operation in Ukraine and, in the company of his friends, repeatedly said that everything had gone too far."
