During the night of July 1, drones from the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine attacked the Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant located in the Belgorod region of Russia. As a result of the attack, the enterprise was incapacitated.
Andriy Yusov, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate, reported this during a TV marathon.
"This is one of the key enterprises for the Russian military-industrial complex, whose main customers are military productions - manufacturers of automotive vehicles, armored vehicles, and all those who use metal," he stated.
According to Yusov, the Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant is the only enterprise in Russia with a complete production cycle, and it has been halted.
"Recovering full-scale operations in the coming months will be problematic. This means complications and disruptions in fulfilling defense orders and, accordingly, supply chains," he noted.
The Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant is one of the largest producers of metal products in Russia and plays a crucial role in the country's defense industry. The plant supplies raw materials to enterprises producing tanks, armored vehicles, missiles, and other armaments.
It is worth noting that this is not the first attack on Oskol Electrometallurgical Plant this year. On March 23, the plant already experienced a drone attack, although the damage was minor at that time.
