The Russian Defense Ministry reported that more than 50,000 SCO and CSTO servicemen would participate in the Vostok-2022 strategic exercises, which will be held from September 1 to 7 at the training grounds of the Eastern Military District. This was reported by Kommersant.
According to the Ministry of Defense, 5,000 weapons and military equipment will be involved in the exercises, including 140 aircraft and 60 warships. The exercises will take place at the training grounds Burduny, Goryachie Klyuchi, Knyaz-Volkonsky, Lagunnoye, Sergeevsky, Telemba, Uspenovsky, in the waters of the Sea of ​​Okhotsk and the Sea of ​​Japan.
The Ministry of Defense stated that the exercises are being held "in the interests of ensuring the military security of the Russian Federation and its allies in the zone of responsibility of the Eastern Military District." The military from China, Belarus, Kazakhstan, India, Tajikistan, Mongolia, and other countries will participate in the exercises.
