In Kharkiv, the number of people injured due to the Russian strike on the Shevchenko district has increased to 31, with 3 people killed. This was reported by Oleg Synegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, on Facebook.
Synegubov recalled that Russian forces struck the city at 3:38 PM on Friday, May 17. As a result of the Russian shelling, a fire broke out.
At 12:30 PM, the Russian forces attacked the settlement of Kupyansk-Vuzlovyi with guided aerial bombs, causing partial destruction of the administrative building of a hospital and damage to multi-story buildings and a kindergarten. One woman was injured.
At 5:00 PM, Russians shelled the village of Lyptsi in the Kharkiv district with multiple rocket launchers, damaging a private household. A 53-year-old man was injured.
According to the head of the regional administration, 9,907 local residents have been evacuated from the border areas of the region to date.
On May 17th, around noon, Russian forces targeted Kharkiv with two strikes using guided aerial bombs. Three fatalities and 28 injuries were reported as a result of these attacks.
