Ebrahim Raisi, the President of Iran, who has often expressed solidarity with Russia, offered his mediation in the dialogue between Moscow and Kyiv. Newsweek reports this.

"We have repeatedly stated that we are ready to act as a mediator to achieve the cessation of hostilities between the Russian Federation and Ukraine," Raisi said during a meeting within the framework of the UN General Assembly week.

The Iranian leader criticized the United States for its support of Ukraine in military and economic spheres. Raisi emphasized that the United States contributes to discord by providing significant military assistance to Kyiv.

"Why such enthusiasm in supplying military equipment and receiving a dollar amount from these supplies and sales, instead of energetically stepping onto the stage to contribute to the cessation of hostilities and peace?" he added.

At the same time, American and European officials claim that the significant number of Iranian drones used in the war in Ukraine indicates that Iran has not stopped but, on the contrary, has increased the supply of such weapons after the start of the conflict
