Romanian President Klaus Iohannis has approved the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets at a training center located in Romania.

Additionally, he has also agreed to allow the transit of international military assistance for Ukraine through Romania.
It has been revealed to journalists that Iohannis sent a letter to parliament, informing them of his approval for the training of approximately 50 Ukrainian Air Force servicemembers on Romanian territory.
Furthermore, he has consented to the transit of military assistance for Ukraine from Finland through Romanian territory.
This issue is expected to be discussed soon at a meeting of the leaders of both chambers of the Romanian parliament. The vote in the chamber is set to take place at the next joint plenary session.
The Romanian authorities have not officially announced when the training of Ukrainian military personnel will begin.
However, according to journalists' information, they are expected to arrive at the European training center at the Romanian airbase in Fetesti this summer. It is anticipated that the training of pilots on F-16s will be completed by the end of the year.
