President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, RadosÅaw Sikorski, who is on an official visit to our country.
Volodymyr Zelensky highlighted the importance of the first visit of the newly appointed head of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs to our state. The head of the state expressed gratitude for the significant support of Ukraine by Poland in resisting full-scale Russian invasion and providing shelter to Ukrainian citizens who sought refuge from hostilities.
The interlocutors agreed that bilateral relations should receive a new impetus, and all problematic issues should be resolved in the spirit of mutual trust and respect.
"We hope for the opening of a new page in our relations. We are very strong neighbors with a shared history. We are glad to see you here. I hope that the Prime Minister of Poland will also find the opportunity to visit Ukraine at the earliest opportunity," emphasized Volodymyr Zelensky.
The President of Ukraine and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland had a substantive discussion on further cooperation in the defense sector and the key needs of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
Volodymyr Zelensky and RadosÅaw Sikorski separately addressed the issue of establishing joint productions and explored the possibility of purchasing Polish weaponry, which has demonstrated effectiveness on the battlefield.
They also discussed the preparations for the next meeting at the level of leaders' advisors regarding the implementation of the Peace Formula and the organization of the Global Peace Summit.
