The restoration of the energy system after the recent attacks by the Russian Federation requires external financial assistance, according to Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, the Chairman of the Board of Ukrenergo.
"The destruction we have faced will require significant financial resources for recovery. I cannot specify the exact amount needed at the moment, but it will certainly require external financial support, with donor support being a crucial source," Kudrytskyi stated at a briefing in the media center of Kharkiv on Tuesday.
According to him, many countries have already responded to provide assistance.
"This week, there will be an online donor conference for the energy sector to determine the needs and funding sources not only for Ukrenergo but also for other companies. We are talking about dozens of countries," Kudrytskyi noted.
At the same time, he expressed the belief that the reconstruction campaign this summer will not be easier than the previous one.
Kudrytskyi emphasized that Ukrenergo's mobilization of over $1 billion from international partners during the war has enabled the recovery and increased the liquidity of the energy sector.
