Russian forces attacked Ukrainian territory overnight using drones of the "Shahed" type and a cruise missile. Air defense forces destroyed most of the drones.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Telegram channel of the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine.
"Last night, Russian occupiers once again attacked Ukraine, using 22 UAVs of the Shahed type. Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed 17 of the attacking UAVs," the statement from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.
Specifically, for the attack on southern regions, the Russians used kamikaze drones of the Shahed-131/136 type and an X-59 missile, which was launched towards the Odessa region. The target was destroyed by air defense units over the sea.
"For 2.5 hours, air defense units repelled the attack, destroying eight targets: two in the Kherson region, four in the sky over the Mykolaiv region, and two more left our operational zone towards Dnipropetrovsk region, where they were also destroyed," the statement from the Defense Forces of Southern Ukraine said.
