During a counter-sabotage special operation in the front-line areas of the Mykolaiv region, an agent of the military intelligence of the Soviet Union was detained, who gave the enemy the exact coordinates of the city's educational institutions for the so-called "intimidating" missile attacks.
The perpetrator also collected intelligence on the deployment, movement, and armament of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the south.
It was established that on his "tip-off," several objects of military infrastructure were destroyed and damaged in Mykolaiv, and a devastating blow was inflicted on two schools.
In general, since the beginning of the large-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, 3 higher educational institutions, 2 technical schools and more than 10 schools have been partially or wholly destroyed in the regional center.
Cyber ââspecialists of the SBU established that the detainee was recruited by a personnel officer of the Russian military intelligence after the start of a full-scale invasion.
The man actively participated in discussions on numerous anti-state Telegram channels, where he did not hide his anti-Ukrainian views and openly promoted Russian narratives.
While searching the detainee's residence, law enforcement officers found a mobile phone he used to communicate with the Russian coordinator.
Currently, the perpetrator has been notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Art. 114-2 (unauthorized dissemination of information about the transfer of weapons and military supplies to Ukraine, the movement, transfer or placement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and a preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen.
The sanction of the article provides imprisonment for a term of up to twelve years.
