The Security Service prevented attempts of illegal export of high-tech aviation equipment beyond Ukraine's borders.

In various regions of our country, two individuals were apprehended who attempted to covertly send Ukrainian components for combat aviation abroad.

Among the confiscated items were equipment that is part of the targeting system for fighter jets.

In Kropyvnytskyi:

A local resident was apprehended, who planned to establish an international channel for illegal trafficking of military goods abroad. For the "first time," the smuggler attempted to sell components for the targeting system of MiG-29 fighter jets to an EU country. To transport the "shipment" abroad, he intended to arrange it through a popular postal service, providing false information in the customs declaration.

However, SSU operatives timely exposed the perpetrator, documented his criminal actions, and detained him while attempting to send the aviation equipment. According to available information, the perpetrator's clients were "middlemen" of technological equipment who intended to resell it at a higher price.

In Poltava region:

Another smuggler was exposed who attempted to sell spare parts for aviation equipment abroad. Primarily, it concerned components for Mi-24 attack helicopters and shipborne Ka-27 rotorcraft. To find clients, the perpetrator placed advertisements on international trading platforms. After finding a foreign "customer," the perpetrator prepared a postal shipment, which he labeled as "civil" equipment.

SSU operatives reacted promptly and detained the smuggler during the dispatch of the "parcel."

During the search of his residence, additional equipment prepared by the perpetrator for shipment abroad was found.

Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators notified the perpetrators of suspicion under Art. 333 Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the procedure for international transfers of goods subject to state export control).

The perpetrators face imprisonment. Investigations into all exposed facts continue to establish the sources of origin of the military equipment.

Comprehensive measures were carried out by SSU operatives in Poltava and Kirovohrad regions with the assistance of Lviv Customs and procedural guidance from regional prosecutors.
