Three-time European karate champion Anita Serogina won an Olympic license based on the results of the world selection, which takes place in Paris. This is the sixth Olympic license for the Odessa region at the 2020 Games.


According to the results of competitions in the category "up to 61 kg" Anita Serogina (coach - Alexander Tonkoshkur) entered the top three, which provided her with an Olympic license.

In order to win a ticket to Tokyo 2020, Anita held 9 matches in one day (7 wins, 2 draws).

Initially, she won four games in the main draw, defeating Channis Charles (Trinidad and Tobago) - 3:0, Jordan's Assel Alneymi - 5:0, Germany's Anna Migu - 5:0 and Canadian Juma Haya - 5:2. In the semifinals, Anita lost to Moroccan Btissam Sadini 1:1 (according to the judges) and fought for a ticket to the final four in a consolation round, where she defeated Michel Fonseca of Puerto Rico (2:0).

Following the results of the final tournament the karate girl representing SK "Katana port Chernomorsk" took the 2nd place, having received a silver medal and a ticket to Tokyo-2020.

Thus, the Odessa region has six Olympic licenses. Also in Tokyo 2020 will perform Irina Malovichko (bench shooting), Anastasia Lysenko (weightlifting), Angelika Terluga (karate), Anastasia Todorova (rowing) and Vasily Mykhaylov (freestyle wrestling).
