Ukraine is negotiating with African countries to open new markets for domestic producers.
This is stated in the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection message.
Ukraine has not yet realised its potential for trade and economic cooperation with African countries. We are more or less actively cooperating with the countries of North Africa, where historically closer ties have developed. The rest of the continent's states are almost terra incognita for most of our business representatives, although certain shifts can be observed. We see the desire of Ukrainian business to enter these markets, and we will contribute to this as much as possible.
Vladyslava Magaletska, the head of the State Food and Consumer Service
According to her, this year, thanks to the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy and the State Food and Consumer Service, the Ethiopian market for chicken eggs, the Libyan market for milk and dairy products, and the Liberian market for poultry meat were opened. Work continues on opening markets in Tunisia, Senegal, Egypt, Algeria, Angola, Botswana, South Africa, Ghana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cote d'Ivoire, Liberia, Libya, Nigeria, Tanzania and Sudan.
The negotiations covers all major regions of Africa. We look forward to strengthening cooperation on the continent and will continue to build up economic and trade cooperation.
