Turkey is trying to bring Ukraine and Russia to the negotiating table.
The war in Ukraine is dragging on, and only Russia is to blame for this. Constant shelling complicates possible negotiations. This was stated by the official representative of the President of Turkey, Ibrahim Kalin, reports CNN Turk.
Turkey also calls on Ukraine and the Russian Federation for a mutual ceasefire. Kalin also stated that Turkey does not yet see Ukraine's victory.
"This shows that the war today tends to reach a stalemate, and as we can see, neither side can win a decisive victory on the battlefield. But we will continue to work for a ceasefire on the battlefield, especially around the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. The nuclear power plant is the biggest security threat to everyone," Kalin said.
Turkey is trying to convince the parties of the need to sit down at the negotiating table.
"Now, none of the parties is ready to lay down their arms and sit down at the negotiating table. And we are concerned that we will see a further escalation of the conflict in Ukraine over the next few months," Kalin added.
