In the United Kingdom, the first phase of the Digital Library of the Nottingham branch of the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain (AUGB Nottingham) has been launched, providing access to a unique collection of Ukrainian literary, historical, and cultural heritage for users worldwide.

This was reported on the Facebook page of the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain.

The landmark project was financially supported by Nottingham City Council. The main goal of the initiative is to preserve and promote the overseas book collection. The platform is designed not only for the local community, but also for students, historians, researchers, and academics across the UK and beyond.

Special thanks for the careful, many-hour work on developing the resource was expressed to Bohdan Vhatskyi.

The developers have already presented the first results and confirmed the schedule for the platform’s full rollout:

  • Phase One – Now Live. Approximately one third of the physical AUGB Nottingham Library is now available online.
  • Phase Two – Planned by the end of Summer 2026. A further third of the collection will be added.
  • Final Phase – Planned by the end of 2026. Completion of the remaining collection together with the resolution of any problematic entries and further improvements to the catalogue.

The digital catalogue is available in both Ukrainian and English. The platform’s interface allows flexible searching by title, author, year of publication, or keywords (for example, entering “in English” filters English-language materials).

Some digitised materials are freely accessible via the “Open book” button, while other rare editions may be provided individually upon request for educational or research purposes.

The interactive platform can be accessed at the official address: AUGB Nottingham Digital Library. Representatives of AUGB encourage the community to actively share this resource with schools, universities, and anyone interested in the history of Ukraine.

"Please take a look, rediscover our heritage, and share this exciting new resource with your family, friends, schools, universities and anyone with an interest in Ukraine and its history. Together, we are preserving our past for future generations," the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain wrote.
