Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Serhiy Boyev held a meeting with the head of the Polish Council for Cooperation with Ukraine, Paweł Kowal. The key topic of the negotiations was potential joint defense manufacturing projects and further military assistance.

The visit of the Polish delegation to Kyiv continued the dialogue between Ukraine and Poland following the signing of the memorandum on defense cooperation and participation in the International Conference on Ukraine’s Reconstruction 2025. Paweł Kowal was previously appointed as the Polish Government’s commissioner for Ukraine’s reconstruction.

“Industrial and innovative competition is not only a component of modern warfare but also a safeguard against new aggression in the future. Europe is scaling up its defense industry, and Poland is a leading driver in many areas, so we are equally interested in developing our defense cooperation,” said Serhiy Boyev.

The Polish side raised the issue of implementing projects under the signed memorandum on defense cooperation between Ukroboronprom and the Polish Armaments Group (PGZ).

They also discussed creating joint production of Ukrainian weapons on Polish territory within the framework of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s “Build with Ukraine” initiative.

Serhiy Boyev emphasized that Ukraine values Poland’s assistance in strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities. According to him, the countries face several common challenges, including countering enemy strike UAVs.

Additionally, he stressed that funding drone production remains important. Ukraine is very interested in using the SAFE mechanism to implement joint projects, Boyev concluded.
