At the Ukraine–NB8 Summit in Tallinn, President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson to discuss the implementation of agreements concerning Gripen fighter jets. The two leaders also coordinated their contacts and cooperation plans for the near future.
The President of Ukraine announced this on Telegram.
“During my meeting with Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, we discussed the results of my recent visit to Sweden and the implementation of our agreements regarding Gripen fighter aircraft. It was an important meeting that significantly strengthened our cooperation. Thank you, Sweden!” Zelensky said.
According to the President, the two sides coordinated upcoming contacts and paid special attention to strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, particularly by exploring ways to obtain additional air defense systems and missiles for them.
Zelensky also briefed the Swedish Prime Minister on his meeting with leaders in the E3–Ukraine format, as well as on contacts with representatives of the President of the United States regarding efforts to achieve peace.
The meeting also addressed Ukraine’s European integration process.
“We are seeking the opening of all six negotiation clusters in June–July. I am grateful to the Prime Minister for reaffirming his support in this regard,” Zelensky concluded.
