Ukraine is planning to implement an electronic notification system for foreign visitors who are eligible for visa-free entry into the country.
The press service of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine reported that on Tuesday, August 13, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of NSDC Secretary Oleksandr Lytyvynenko to review the status of NSDC decisions aimed at strengthening control over the entry and exit of foreigners and stateless persons, as well as their adherence to the rules for staying in Ukraine.
"During the meeting, in order to enhance border and migration control, as well as counterintelligence measures during martial law, it was proposed to define and approve a list of countries with which Ukraine has a visa-free entry regime, whose citizens will be required to submit an electronic notification of their intention to enter Ukraine," the NSDC stated.
The NSDC also emphasized the importance of adapting Ukrainian legislation to EU laws by developing and submitting a draft law to the Verkhovna Rada on implementing an electronic notification system for citizens of visa-free countries.
Additionally, the meeting discussed creating a preventive mechanism to ban the entry of foreigners whose presence in Ukraine is deemed undesirable for national security reasons.
