Ukrainian pilots are undergoing training for F-16 flights at one of the airbases in southwestern France after completing their basic training in the United Kingdom.
This was reported by BFM TV.
"At the moment, France will not be providing Ukraine with fighter jets, but it is already participating in the training of ten Ukrainian pilots selected by its General Staff. They are between 20 and 22 years old. Six of them are still undergoing training in the United Kingdom to master the English language to the required level," according to BFM.
It is noted that four other pilots have already completed language training and have some experience in operating civil or training aircraft. They are currently at an airbase in southwestern France, where they are undergoing air combat training on F-16s.
"The new Ukrainian aviators will be trained in the same way as French Air Force and Navy pilots, but twice as fast. The training will take place on simulators. Before training on the F-16, pilots must accumulate 80 hours on the Alpha Jet," BFM added. TV.
After this six-month training period, the pilots will transition to the F-16 in the United States or one of the European countries. Technical teams, including mechanics, are likely to be trained in the United States.
