Ukrainian publishers sold all books at the Book Fair in Warsaw

About 1,800 copies of books by Ukrainian publishers were sold during the Warsaw Book Fair, which took place in the Polish capital on May 26-29.

Books about contemporary Ukrainian culture from 24 Ukrainian publishers were presented at the Ukrainian stand, which this year worked under the slogan "Thank you, Poland". In total, with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Poland, about 1,800 Ukrainian books were delivered to Warsaw, almost all of which were sold at the fair.

The main visitors and buyers at the Ukrainian stand were Ukrainians, but books in Ukrainian were also bought by Poles who began to study the Ukrainian language or wanted to support Ukrainian book publishing.

At the event's opening, the inaugural speech was delivered by Ukrainian writer Oksana Zabuzhko, who this year received the honorary award of the Warsaw Book Fair 2022 IKAR for the prolonged presence of the Ukrainian voice for freedom and human rights in world literature.

In total, more than 500 publishers from 13 European countries took part in Poland's most prominent literary event: Poland, Germany, Norway, Armenia, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Spain, Romania, Switzerland, Hungary and the United Kingdom.
