The military counterintelligence of the Security Service detained another informant for the FSB, who was directing missile-drone strikes by Russia on Donetsk.
The culprit turned out to be a contractor of one of the combat brigades of the Defense Forces stationed in the eastern region. The perpetrator provided the Russian special service with coordinates of firing positions and military fortifications.
The aggressor was primarily interested in the geolocations of the largest concentration of personnel and the location of heavy armaments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including tanks and artillery. To conceal subversive activities, the "mole" worked for the FSB through his father, who traveled to Russia in August 2023.
To move to Russia, as a father of many children, he crossed the border towards the European Union and from there crossed into the aggressor country. In Russia, he established contact with a propagandist and former FSB employee, Sergey Karnaukhov. It was to Karnaukhov that the perpetrator's father leaked intelligence about the Defense Forces received from his son. Karnaukhov passed this information to his FSB handler. It has been established that the invaders used reconnaissance information to prepare targeted air attacks on the Ukrainian military positions.
During the search at the location of the detainee, a mobile phone was found, which he used to record coordinates and the available armaments of the Defense Forces and send "reports" to the FSB.
Currently, the Security Service investigators have informed him of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information about the direction, movement of weapons, armaments, and military equipment to Ukraine, movement or deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other military formations formed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, committed under conditions of martial law).
The perpetrator is in custody. He faces up to 12 years in prison.
In addition, the issue of notifying the father of the detainee about the suspicion in absentia and bringing him to justice for crimes against Ukraine is being addressed.
