The team of assistants to chaplains of the NGO Military Chaplains of Kyiv produces realistic mock-ups of mortars using old satellite dishes. Ghost Mortars are made upon request from the military to deceive Russian drones on the frontline.
"We received a request from the military. We are making fake mortars to deceive enemy drones at zero point. We are sharing this because these mortars cannot be distinguished from the height, and, of course, there will be no information about their location. Smoke comes from the mortar, almost like from a real one," the volunteers noted.
Satellite dishes are used as the base for the fake mortar. The producers urge people to send them unwanted antennas via Nova Poshta delivery service. The condition of the antennas is not important, but the size matters – only dishes with a radius of about 90 cm are suitable. According to their words, they have already received 6 such antennas, and another 5 are on the way.
"The first request has already been closed, but, friends, we are making fake mortars. Their purpose is to be destroyed by enemy drones instead of our real mortars," the volunteers urge.
