PJSC Ukrzaliznytsia and LTG Group have signed a memorandum of understanding, agreeing to strengthen international cooperation and develop a joint international intermodal route from Klaipeda to Kyiv via the territory of Poland. LTG Group press service reports.
In the agreement, the railway carriers of both countries have agreed to jointly coordinate the project and allocate the necessary resources for its competitive implementation.
It is planned that the first test runs of the intermodal cargo transportation route will be conducted this year. Subsequently, cargo is expected to be transported regularly along this route.
"We see Ukraine and Ukrainian Railways as our strategic partners in ensuring uninterrupted cargo movement between our countries and in expanding export and import opportunities through the port of Klaipeda between Ukraine and Scandinavia. We support Ukraine in its efforts to develop alternative logistics solutions and increase the competitiveness of businesses in both countries in the region," noted Egidijus Lazauskas, CEO of LTG Group.
The companies have also agreed to analyze the market potential, prepare necessary technological and operational solutions, and develop a specific action plan to ensure the successful implementation of the project.
