During the investigation of the Medvedchuk case, the Security Service of Ukraine discovered a lot of information about Russian intelligence networks and traitors, exposed and detained them. The relevant details were reported by the acting Head of SBU, Vasyl Malyuk, according to the results of the briefing on September 22.
"Yes, we exposed the agent network of the so-called "Professor", which operated in Odessa and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. The agents collected information and passed it on to the Russian special services. In addition, we can mention the detention of a "mole" - an official of the Cabinet of Ministers, the head of one of the departments, who passed information, including secret information, to the enemy. By the way, there is already a court verdict against him - he was sentenced to 12 years in prison," said Vasyl Malyuk.
The head of the SBU also recalled the exposure of an intelligence network that operated in the Khmelnytsky and Ivano-Frankivsk regions. Its task was not only to collect information but also to prepare for the creation of appropriate quasi-republics there. At present, individual persons involved are being prosecuted under Art. 109 of the Criminal Code and are already imprisoned.
"We also warned about the possible installation of special technical means on the sidelines of the BP. Through its secret service agents, Russia wanted to collect information directly among people's deputies. The SBU did not allow this," Vasyl Malyuk emphasized.
He noted that the Security Service had obtained a maximum of important information that helps protect the country's security. The head of the SBU also emphasized that the exchange of Medvedchuk for captured Ukrainians does not prevent further court proceedings in the proceedings in which he appears, as well as the adoption of court decisions, the imposition of punishment, and the confiscation of seized property.
"But the most important thing is that thanks to the exchange for one traitor, we brought home 215 Heroes. They went through real hell, but they never surrendered to the enemy. Because no Putin can break the Ukrainian spirit!" - convinced acting Heads of the SBU.
