"The current situation: We have a very complex situation in Avdiivka and a very promising one on the left bank of the Kherson region," This opinion was expressed by a former adviser to the Office of the President and Interior Minister, Viktor Andrusiv.
"Avdiivka: As I mentioned, the Russians have fallen into the "Prigozhin trap." Now, the question is not the cost; they will drive everything they can. To do that, they are actively withdrawing troops from other directions. So, I emphasize again, the question is not whether we will hold Avdiivka or not, but how we will use the situation as a whole. Unfortunately, the situation is complex due to the exhaustion of our forces and resources.
Left bank: The airborne operations on the left bank are bearing their first fruits. This is the only reason why I believe we should not declare our counteroffensive a failure until the end of November. For now, I won't go into details.
And now the most important point: There hasn't been any catastrophe, and there isn't even a prediction of one. Even if we assume the loss of Avdiivka, it is a significant problem, but certainly not a catastrophe or a defeat in the war. The catastrophe will be if we don't adopt a new war strategy by the end of the year. Obviously, our previous approaches and self-analysis have exhausted themselves. This isn't just about the front; it's about the whole country: international politics, the economy, personnel decisions, and so on.
So, we work for victory wherever, however we can. Remember that we survived in 2022 solely due to our unity and moral spirit. Losing that will be a defeat in the war."
