Four Kh-47 'Kinzhal' missiles launched by the enemy towards Ivano-Frankivsk region this morning were targeted at a military airfield and young pilots who will soon be going for training in Europe. Colonel Yuriy Ignat, the spokesperson for the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, mentioned this during the Yedini Novyny telethon.
"This is another strike by terrorists using Kh-47 missiles. The missiles were aimed at military airfields that have been under the enemy's target for the past month. The airfield in the Khmelnytskyi region is currently suffering the consequences of the strikes by Russian occupiers the most. This time, Prykarpattia was under attack, our youth, young pilots who are about to go for training. The young pilots will be trained under a different program. We know that both the United Kingdom and other countries will train them on a new type of aircraft, primarily the F-16. Thus, the enemy wanted to strike at our youth, depriving us of the prospect of further modernization with the latest Western equipment," emphasized Yuriy Ignat.
He also noted that one missile was shot down over Kyiv region, while the other Kinzhal missiles were directed towards Ivano-Frankivsk region
