The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine published information about over 100 foreign components identified by experts from Ukrainian research institutions in drones and missiles that Russia is using against Ukraine.

This was reported by the Main Intelligence Directorate on Facebook.

In the "Weapon Components" section of the War&Sanctions portal, the data include two Russian-made Geran-2 attack drones of the "Ы" series, the multipurpose Korsar UAV, and the Kh-69 cruise missile.

To continue and intensify terror against the Ukrainian population, Russia continues to modernize its main strike systems, including the Geran-2 (Shahed-136) UAV. In some cases, this modernization involves Iran.

Specifically, the use of UAVs with Iranian-made thermobaric warheads has been documented.

Earlier, the Main Intelligence Directorate reported a new Shahed series MS, likely of Iranian origin, which used an Nvidia Jetson Orin mini-computer specialized for AI tasks and video processing. Russia also uses such computers in the V2U attack UAV.

In addition to Iranian components, Russians are also installing their own warheads on the new Shaheds with shaped-charge cores capable of penetrating fortified shelters.

In both cases, target contact sensors are used to initiate detonation.

Some UAVs were observed using warheads with metal ball submunitions and the ability for proximity detonation triggered by optical sensors (laser rangefinder, lidar) at a set distance from the target.

In this case, the SF20 laser rangefinder from the South African company LightWare was used.

In August, Geran-2 UAVs were also documented with payloads mounted on external wing pylons
