Ukraine’s Deputy Minister of Energy, Svitlana Hrynchuk, held a meeting with Japan’s Ambassador to Ukraine, Masashi Nakagome, and representatives of JICA.
She wrote about this on Facebook.
"Today, during the meeting with the Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine, Masashi Nakagome, and colleagues from JICA’s office in Ukraine, I spoke about the consequences of recent attacks and the ongoing restoration work. I emphasized that our current priority is to quickly build up equipment reserves and protect energy facilities. We agreed to accelerate the delivery of Japan’s already planned assistance for Ukraine’s energy sector. We also discussed involving Japanese companies in cooperation," Hrynchuk noted.
She added that thanks to Japan’s support, Ukrainian energy workers are able to promptly restore damaged facilities and ensure energy supply to consumers. In particular, Japan has provided special equipment for repair teams, tools for restoring damaged transmission and distribution networks, as well as emergency recovery aid for infrastructure in Kyiv, Odessa, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, and Kherson.
