In Kherson, over the past few days, the enemy attacked the local CHP (combined heat and power plant), forcing its shutdown, leaving 470 buildings without heat — affecting more than 40,500 residents.
This was reported by Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration.
“Over the past few days, Russian occupiers have intensively attacked the Kherson CHP — using drones, artillery, and other weapons,” Prokudin wrote.
The civilian facility, which provided heating for the city, suffered significant damage: both the buildings and equipment of the plant were affected.
Prokudin emphasized that the terrorists are once again targeting civilians.
“As a result, the CHP has been shut down. 470 buildings — over 40,500 residents — are left without heat,” he added.
Considering the situation, Prokudin is convening an operational meeting to discuss alternative heating options for homes connected to the CHP. Negotiations are also underway with partners to provide Kherson residents with electric heaters and other heating means.
