Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022, Kherson has become a symbolic and strategic focal point of the conflict. The new documentary Kherson: Human Safari traces the city’s wartime journey—from invasion and occupation to resistance, liberation, ecological devastation, and the terrifying era of drone warfare.
In a recent development, a United Nations commission confirmed that the systematic drone attacks on Kherson constitute war crimes and crimes against humanity.
The 72-minute film, produced and directed by American journalist Zarina Zabrisky, will premiere on the MEGOGO platform and air on Ukrainian TV channels Dim and Freedom on November 11, 2025, at 20:00 Kyiv time. It will also be available on YouTube, Kyivstar TV, Sweet TV, YouTV, OTT Club, and Ukrainske TV.
“Alongside the new UN report, Angelina Jolie’s visit to Kherson, and President Zelensky’s anti-drone defense program, the wide free screening of the film will help raise awareness and support for the city,” the director’s team said.
For Zabrisky, the date carries personal significance—it marks three years since her first visit to Kherson.
