Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, Head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, inspected the positions of the “Timur” Special Unit fighters on Snake (Zmiinyi) Island and offshore drilling platforms in the Black Sea.
The head of military intelligence checked the forces and assets involved in defending the waters, including the so-called “rigs” that were returned to Ukraine’s lawful control as a result of successful operations by the Defence Intelligence and other components of the Security and Defence Forces.
During his visit to the Black Sea region, Budanov held a meeting with officers to discuss further actions within the overall strategy, and awarded members of the “Timur” Special Unit for their professionalism and bravery in defending Ukraine during the war with Russia in the Black Sea.
They also honored the memory of the warriors who fell during the liberation of Zmiinyi Island and Ukraine’s territorial waters in the Black Sea from Russian forces.
“Honor to the fighters of the Defence Intelligence and all Security and Defence Forces of Ukraine! Our effective fight against the aggressor at sea, on land, and in the sky has proven to the whole world that a united Ukrainian nation can overcome even a stronger enemy. No matter what anyone says — Ukraine’s future depends only on us. The fight continues,” Budanov said.
