Industrial parks in Ukraine continue to give rise to new factories, despite the war and thanks to the government’s Made in Ukraine policy.

At the Western Ukrainian Industrial Hub located in the village of Ostriv near Ternopil, a new factory has begun shipping products. The enterprise, the food processing plant 'Babusia Marusiaэб produces vegetable preserves and pickles (cucumbers, beans, tomatoes, and peppers), as well as semi-finished vacuum-packed vegetable products. The factory has already reached its design production capacity and plans to produce 650 tons of canned goods in 2025.

"The investment in launching the new factory amounted to UAH 45 million," said Dmytro Kysylevskyy, Deputy Chair of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development.

Construction of industrial buildings totaling 1,700 sq. m and installation of production lines took place during 2024–2025. The facility currently employs 30 workers, with plans to increase the staff by 1.5 times. Export shipments to the Baltic countries, Israel, Turkey, and Italy are also planned.

The Western Ukrainian Industrial Hub, covering more than 10 hectares, was established in 2022 on the site of a meat processing plant that had been idle for over 10 years but retained strong engineering and logistics infrastructure. Today, the park has over 58,000 sq. m of renovated industrial space with ceiling heights of 5–10 meters and its own 10 MW substation.

In addition to the “Babusia Marusia” factory, the park hosts enterprises such as Nasha Ptytsia (chicken processing), Delta Food (sauce production), and Ternopil Meat Processing Plant (agro-processing), as well as a logistics center whose warehouses are used by six local and 16 relocated enterprises. The industrial park’s companies provide 860 jobs, with the park’s concept aiming for 1,300 positions.

Industrial parks are part of Ukraine’s Made in Ukraine policy to develop domestic production, non-raw exports, and attract investment into the processing industry.
