"Killing soldiers in the rear is a red line that cannot be crossed."
This was stated by the Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykhailo Drapaty, on Facebook.
Mykhailo Drapaty condemned the murders and attacks on military personnel from the Territorial Centers for Recruitment and Social Support (TCC) and called on the government to respond firmly to such incidents.
"We have no right to silently observe the growing wave of contempt for the defenders of Ukraine – this is beyond what can be tolerated. Nothing happens suddenly. We have already seen cases of humiliation and aggression toward our defenders, but I have not seen a sharp societal reaction to this. Now we have direct armed attacks. This is how the enemy works. He operates among us while we’re busy checking who liked what," he stated.
According to Drapaty, there are no justifications for killing a serviceman or attacking a TCC.
"A swift and harsh reaction from the authorities is the only possible response to lawlessness against the military. Without the just punishment of murderers, sadists, and traitors, we will have even more brothers killed in the rear. In other cities. In other neighborhoods. At gas stations, in supermarkets, in stairwells, on streets that bear the names of Heroes," he warned.
Mykhailo Drapaty urged society not to tolerate such crimes.
"If society digests these attacks, bad symptoms will become a diagnosis. I want to believe that where we are now, this is not possible. Because the only thing that separates us from the enemy is the Defense Forces of Ukraine, the Armed Forces. While we lose our best people on the front lines, we cannot afford to lose our conscience in the rear," he emphasized.
Contempt for a person in a pixel, Drapaty stressed, begins where dignity ends.
"We must respect those who took up arms and, at the cost of their own lives, defend our cities, the people in them, our borders, our sky, and our land, our state, our flag, our home," he added.
